Swedish brunch at Skansen: what to know about Ida Bauhn’s Verandan

A brunch reservation can also be the start of a day at Skansen. That is one practical attraction of Verandan, Ida Bauhn’s restaurant beside the Solliden stage: according to the restaurant, admission to Skansen is included for the whole party. But children’s prices vary between sittings, and the official pages do not agree on the opening time.

A Swedish starting point

Skansen gives 26 September as Verandan’s opening date. That date has now passed, but this article is based on information from Skansen and the restaurant, not a visit or independent confirmation of the first service.

The chef behind the project is Ida Bauhn, winner of Årets Kock 2025 and formerly head chef at Nour in Stockholm. Skansen describes Verandan as her first restaurant. It occupies the renovated restaurant building beside the Solliden stage, operated by Stureplansgruppen.

The food concept is clearly stated: Swedish brunch built around seasonal ingredients. Both official sources highlight game and fish alongside produce from Swedish suppliers. That describes the direction of the cooking, not a guarantee that a particular dish will appear at every sitting. If a specific ingredient is the reason for your trip, read the current menu before booking.

Same adult price, different children’s prices

When checked on 27 September 2026, the restaurant website listed these prices in Swedish kronor:

• First sitting, 10.30–11.45: adults SEK 395, children aged 4–12 SEK 150, children aged 0–3 free.
• Bookable sitting 13.30–15.00: adults SEK 395, children aged 4–12 SEK 195, children aged 0–3 free. For this option, the restaurant says guests may stay until 17.00.

The later option therefore costs SEK 45 more per child aged 4–12. That is worth noticing before a family booking, even though the adult price is identical. These are the published prices of one restaurant, not a comparison with other brunch venues.

The restaurant says admission to Skansen is included in the price for the whole party. Skansen’s own information ties included admission to a table reservation. Book a table and check the instructions in the confirmation, rather than assuming the same arrangement applies without a booking. The price section does not specify which drinks are included; do not automatically count the bar’s cocktails or wines as part of the package.

Check the time before travelling

There is a specific discrepancy between the sources. Skansen’s opening announcement gives Saturday and Sunday hours of 11.00–17.00. The restaurant website instead gives 10.30–17.00 and describes a first sitting beginning at 10.30. Follow the time in your reservation confirmation and check with the restaurant if the details do not match.

The restaurant lists its address as Skansen, Djurgårdsslätten 49–51, Stockholm. Within the grounds, the location is beside the Solliden stage. Check the current menu and any dietary requirements before booking too.

On paper, Verandan’s clearest proposition is the combination of Swedish brunch and a Skansen visit. How the food tastes is a question for the table: this is a pre-visit guide, not a restaurant review.
